Chapter Four: Closing the Book

Life is like a book with many chapters.
There will be chapters that make you happy and chapters that will make you sad.
Some of us go back too often to read the chapters that hurt us the most. We all have our own reasons; to rethink where everything went wrong or to be reminded of the lesson. That is why I started my healing journey over and over many times. When I start to write a new chapter, I get haunted by the chapters that kept me up at night. I begin to doubt myself and end up taking ten steps back. It is exhausting to be stuck in this cycle. I knew I would break through and didn't know when until now.
Don't be so quick to close the book, but don't stay stuck reading the same chapters.
Close the chapter when you are truly ready to move on then close the whole book when you are ready to accept a new beginning. When you can look back and not have the same feelings like before, then you are ready. You may smile and say "It was unfortunate, but I am grateful it happened and it made me a stronger person. Thank you for the lesson."
The truth is, reality can't be erased when you make an error or hit Delete when you mistype. However, think of your past like a rough draft — you made your mistakes trying to figure yourself and life. Your healing journey will be the revising and editing — reevaluating and taking corrective actions to better yourself. Lastly, your final draft is the story you will be proud to tell in the future.
This chapter is short, but I am committed to closing this book.
I encourage you to close your book with me and start writing your new book today.
Thank you for reading this chapter. I hope you enjoyed the read and you or someone you know can relate. Please leave any respectful feedback. Have a blessed day!
Xoxo,
